Site Context
The site is located within the setting of the Chilterns National Landscape, characterised by rolling landform, wooded slopes, and a strong rural landscape structure.
The project explored how a contemporary residential landscape could respond sensitively to its surroundings while supporting day-to-day use and outdoor living.

01
Landscape Concept
A landscape-led strategy organised the site into a series of terraces working with the natural topography to create usable and legible outdoor spaces.

02
Planting proposals combined native and climate-resilient species to support biodiversity, seasonal variation, and long- term resilience.
A restrained material palette informed by local vernacular helped integrate built elements within the wider landscape setting.
Landscape Experience
The design focused on creating a calm and cohesive residential environment shaped through planting, materials, lighting, and spatial sequence.
A carefully calibrated lighting strategy supports evening use while minimising visual impact and protecting dark sky conditions.
